5 Tips for Glowing Skin

Glowing skin has never been hotter than right now! It's Summer and if you live in California, Florida or Puerto Rico you know that natural makeup is the way to go.
Celebrities like Kim Kardashian, Jennifer Lopez and Rihanna are all glow evangelists... Inspiring an array of face contouring and highlighting videos on Youtube and thousands of women trying out the technique worldwide.

Blur creams are now the next 'thing' replacing the plethora of BB and CC creams.

Makeup is a great option, but not a long term solution... These five tips will get you started on your journey to natural glowing skin:

1. Use the right products for your skin & stick with it: Everyone is different and the variety of products on the market is huge. For example, if you have sensitive and oily skin that's prone to acne, finding the right product can be a daunting task. Your esthetician can recommend the right products and routine for your skin type, including how many times to exfoliate and specific ingredients to look for when purchasing products. This step will save you precious time and money.

2. Exercise: Regular exercise increases blood flow and helps get rid of toxins in your body through sweat and bowel movement regulation.  It also helps keep stress levels down and promotes the production of dopamine in the brain. This means less toxins, a positive mood, healthier skin & an overall glowing complexion.

3.  Eat your greens: Kale, spinach, green apples, and cucumbers are all great options when looking to infuse your diet with a spark of antioxidants. Whether you mix them into your salads, or throw some into your mango coconut smoothie... Green veggies along with exercise will help your body detox-making you glow from the inside out.

4. Cut back on sugar, oil & dairy: We all know fried foods, refined sugar and soda is bad for our skin... Yet some people are surprised to know that dairy is also a major acne culprit. Many people are unknowingly allergic to milk and other dairy products, since they contain hormones and other additives... Even whey protein falls into this category.  Popular substitutes include almond, rice and coconut milk.

5. Visit your esthetician regularly: Think of your esthetician as your skin's BFF. If you are new to treatments such as Microneedling and Dermaplaning, a qualified esthetician can walk you through the procedure and make a personalized evaluation based on your needs and budget.  Your skin will thank you for it!

MET Gala 2014: 6 Tips for Formal Dressing

1. Go for something unexpected and you will stand out from the crowd... Just make sure you have the confidence and attitude that goes with it! Zoe Saldana in Michael Kors and Lupita Nyong'o in Prada.

2. Complement a metallic and fluid dress with a statement headpiece or in this case a bold hair color.... Like Nicole Richie in Donna Karan Atelier

3. Harmonize with the event setting but AVOID looking like you're part of the decorations. Anne Hathaway is usually stunning in cool colors such as red and icy pink, but red carpet photos are so important and blending in 'til you seem one with the carpet is just not chic! Anne Hathaway in Calvin Klein Collection.

4. Who say's bold separates are not dressy? Whether monochromatic like Rihanna in Stella McCartney or tone on tone like Emma Stone, separates can be totally classy and fun! Walk on the wild side for once...

5. When in doubt go for Black and White... It never fails to look chic!

6. Break the Rules: Dress according to your definition of fabulous and let the theme come in second to your Personal Style. This philosophy might lead you down the Rita Ora road of Dramatic Lace and gladiator heels (sans the underwear oops) or towards a retro inspired dress like Dita Von Teese in Zac Posen.

Balance your outfit and always, always, always be comfortable, especially when it comes to cleavage, skirt length and heels. Just follow these rules of thumb: You should be able to jump/skip/laugh out loud without a boob falling out. Check? You should be able to bend down without showing your undies and walk graciously without your heels getting caught in your dress. If you can say yes to all these rules, you will be ready to party in style!

I hope these tips were helpful or at least entertaining....

Spring Happy

According to Frank Sinatra, "Orange is the happiest color in the world", and I simply cannot disagree after Pantone's Celosia Orange was introduced as one of 2014 best colors for Spring.
I visually love the color, how perky it makes me feel when surrounded by it and how well it mixes with other 2014 colors such as Dazzling Blue and Radiant Orchid... C'est parfait!

So, here's a round up of images to get you inspired to buy a few orange staples that will add much needed zest to your Spring basics...
